✨ Our Commitment

With Eye Surgery Center of San Francisco conveniently located in the heart of San Francisco, routine surgeries should no longer be at the mercy of emergencies.

“… When you offer a state-of-the-art facility with new equipment and new technology, it speaks to the type of service you provide,” said Dean Hirabayashi, MD, medical director. “I would hope that would instill in our patients a comfort level in knowing that they’re going to come here and get the best possible care they can.”

As an outpatient ophthalmology surgery center, our facility is expected to ease wait times and crowding at nearby hospitals, and should prevent elective surgeries from being pushed back when an emergency arises.

“We’re really excited about all this,” said Tara, a registered nurse. “The rooms are all a good size, the nurse’s station is right in the middle, we can do pre-op and post-op in the same place.”

Over 30 surgeries are expected to be performed at Eye Surgery of San Francisco each day.

“We want the community to know this is their facility. We’re here to provide a service to them and we want to engage with them so they don’t have to go to other facilities.” said Denise Koenes, FACMPE, administrative director.

“… After all, we do want it to be pleasant when they come here and this is a part of that process,” Dean said. “It was a fantastic partnership with other highly respected Bay Area ophthalmic surgeons, giving them an opportunity to showcase their specialties in our facility.”

Dean and Denise say the whole facility is unlike any other in the area.

“This building is a commitment to our community,” Dean said.
